I spent a month in Cuba in 2012. It was a time when one could stay in the houses of ordinary Cubans, and so I got to experience the life these people lead. Music was ever present as was openenss and goodwil.

I wanted to try and capture images of this daily life that avoided the cliches of old cars, and cigar smoking characters.

I was greatly impressed, inspite of the lack of resources, how inventive the people I met faced life's challenges. Cubans truly live by the proverb "Necessity is the mother of invention"
